It looks unfinished, but I need suggestions on what to put. I was trying with black and white, well, greyscale, using the basic swatch. I used a reference picture again, but once I get the hang of flower anatomy (if there is such a term), I could probably construct petals freehand.

Poetry and prose are what I love to read, even though I’m not a great writer myself. Maybe I’m overcritical about being too serious, humorous, flowery or metaphorical.
I would like to refer you to one of someone else’s pieces…The Dreamer, by a deviant known as breakthatfall.
Nothing else to comment on for now. What kind of [...]

Apologies?

I haven’t updated this blog for a while… again. I’m terribly irresponsible about these journal type sites, but I haven’t worked on anything of general audience quality yet. I’m still planning on doing some abstract designs, maybe a few desktop wallpapers (or backgrounds for sites). I really like looking at the retro/obscure vector styles that [...]

Freehand Vectors

On brainstorm with whatnouppercase, I was thinking of doing a freehand vector with no references. We ended up deciding with darts, and here is the final result. I did this with Pen tool only, and I’ve been using the Convert Anchor Point from the Pen tool dropbox to make changes when I made a mistake. [...]

Apologies for the inactivity yesterday, I was busy outside of the computer (shocking, isn’t it). I hadn’t had time to work on the vector, so there really was nothing to update everyone on. To make it up to everyone, I finished the vector today. I’m not very satisfied by the background, but it’s still complete.

A [...]

I’ve taken off the background, now that I’ve done the wings. Today, I used the Pen Tool to start adding in all the details (highlights, shadows, etc) of the dragonfly. Currently, I’ve only completed the head. Tomorrow, I will try the body, and complete the image.

On today’s Adventure into Illustrator, I’ve found the Gradient, Mesh [...]

I did try to pen this in PS first, but I decided that I should just jump into Illustrator. I shrank it and watermarked it as a WIP, and it’s not complete yet. If you can’t tell, it is a dragonfly. I found a stock image that I could reference to, obviously, I can’t [...]

Digital art is one of my hobbies, I suppose. It’s versatile, and always has the Undo (ctrl+z) option that traditional artists wished they had when they accidentally splatter the wrong thing onto their masterpiece. I’ve always used PSCSII and the default program, MSPaint as my “home art programs”. I do have Illustrator, Painter X and [...]

Short comment.

It’s probably overreaction, but I notice that blogs are popping up all over the place. It’s not just any old blog registration, though. It is something so profusely strange, and something that the authors will look upon and say, “Okay, was I ever this weird?” twenty years later in their life.
It’s probably overreaction, because the [...]
